In the months after my mother died, I experienced life as if I had died too. Outwardly, I was going through the motions of life, but inwardly, I felt very disconnected, very separate from the world. This contemporary dance is a metaphor for my experience during this time.

continuum (2003, 4:30 min)

As time passes from year-to-year, decades build and mature into their fullness. The process is cyclical, beginning, ripe with new possibilities, accumulating a body of experience, building to climax then dissipating only to begin again. This middle-eastern veil dance is a visual metaphor of this process.

This project was commissioned by Cinevic, Society of Independent Filmmakers in honour of the 10th Anniversary of the Victoria Independent Film and Video Festival.
